© 2018 ISLE OF WIGHT CAMPERVAN HOLIDAYS

Taking to the sea is where your adventure begins…

Situated just off England’s South Coast, the Isle of Wight is the perfect place for a 1970’s campervan adventure.

Whether you bring your car with you or simply travel as a foot passenger, once you are on the ferry your Island adventure has already begun.

Book your car ferry crossing as part of your holiday.  Ask us about our rates.

If you bring your car…

We have secure gated parking at Camper HQ in Fishbourne which is free for your use whilst you are enjoying the Isle of Wight in your campervan.

We do advise though, that you pack as lightly as possible.

All of our campervans already have a kitchen sink so there is no need to bring too much with you.

Please ask us about our campsites that can offer you a reduced rate car ferry crossing which can save you at least £50 at peak periods.

Car Ferry: Portsmouth - Fishbourne

Operated by Wightlink from their Portsmouth Harbour terminal, this service will take approximately 45 minutes to cross the Solent.  Arriving into Fishbourne, you will only need to drive for a few minutes to reach Camper HQ.  This service can also be used by foot passengers and we will either pick you up or advise how you can reach us on foot.

This car ferry service, operated by Red Funnel runs along Southampton water before heading into the Solent and making landfall at East Cowes. The journey will take approximately one hour and once on the Isle of Wight your travel time to Camper HQ should be no longer than 20 minutes. We also offer a pick-up service for foot passengers from East Cowes.

Car Ferry: Southampton to East Cowes
Car Ferry: Lymington - Yarmouth

If you are travelling from the South West then it may make sense to cross the Solent using Wightlink’s service from Lymington which arrives at Yarmouth.  Taking only 30 minutes to reach the Isle of Wight you can then enjoy some Island scenery on the 45 minute drive to Fishbourne.

We will be very happy to pick you up from either East Cowes, Fishbourne or Ryde. Try and pack into smaller soft canvas bags rather than one big suitcase but always remember that “Less is More” in a 1970’s classic VW. If you are driving to the South Coast and leaving your vehicle in either Southampton or Portsmouth we can advise you regarding the available parking options.

If you arrive by foot...
Passenger: Portsmouth - Ryde

Red Funnel’s “Red Jet” high speed passenger service arrives into West Cowes after a 25 minute crossing of the Solent. Sadly we can’t pick up from this terminal as it is too far from Camper HQ by car on our busy turnaround days.  Why not get on the car ferry service which is only 2 minutes away in Southampton and then we’ll meet you in East Cowes. Alternatively, walk for 10 minutes through West Cowes and cross to East Cowes on the floating bridge where we will happily pick you up.

Wightlink’s “Fast Cat” operates from Portsmouth Harbour Station, so if you are arriving by train this is a great choice.  The 22 minute trip will dock at Ryde Pier Head and we will be more than happy to meet you there and drive you back to Camper HQ.

Passenger - Southampton to West Cowes
Passenger: Southsea to Ryde

The Hovertravel service from Southsea seafront to Ryde is the last remaining commercial foot passenger hover in the UK.  Taking approximately 10 minutes to skim across the Solent this is a fun and different way to travel). Let us know when you are arriving and we’ll meet you and drive you back to Camper HQ.
