It's easy to find your way around, with over 500 miles of carefully maintained footpaths and signposts to follow. Walking, cycling and bird watching are popular all year round and every May the Island hosts the UK's largest walking festival.
Whatever you choose to do - whether it's following a pub walk, hiring bikes, or wandering along secluded coves - your time on the Isle of Wight is something the whole family will enjoy.
Why not start with our much loved Victorian hometown of Ventnor. A hidden micro-climate to the south of the Island. Ventnor offers a working harbour and beautiful family beach with traditional Victorian beach huts. On the Harbour the fish market sells fresh locally caught fish, crab and lobster and now also serves fresh fish & chips for a seaside supper.
Cafes, restaurants & seaside pubs line the Esplanade, giving a good choice for eating. The town has many shops to find something interesting for your trip home and is well worth a walk around, located at the foot of St Boniface Downs the Victorian feel is still prominent. There are many coastal walks from the town. Maybe through to the quaint village of Bonchurch which offers an area steeped in History with its famous pond, or west to Steephill cove, where the local fisherman sell their fresh fish and lobster and the local café makes a mean crab sandwich.
Carry on up to the Botanical gardens and enjoy many tropical walks through the award winning gardens.
Taking to the sea is where you adventure begins...
